Krabi, Thailand 11th to 14th Nov 2010
back from Krabi, THailand, the first 2 person trip with darling.. the place was not too bad but it could be quite boring if never go for the island tour or those activities (trekking or canoe).. Reach Krabi at about 2.55PM on THursday (11th Nov). it was raining but not too heavy kind.. check in to the resort (White Sand Resort) which is at the heart of Ao-Nang. is about 5 min walk to the Beach while nearby there is restaurant, convenient store (7-11), McDonald, Starbucks. there are also massage centres nearby. so on the first night, miiee miiee and me walked around the area to see what to have for dinner and ended up we eat at a Bamboo hut. the thai food is nice but is kinda expensive too. the meal cost about $810 Baht (about $40 Singapore dollar). after dinner continue to walk walk then saw different massage center with different price range as i think those expensive ones are those more upclass in the sense of the service n the environment. we went to the not too bad as it is not too expensive also. $300 baht for foot, head, neck & shoulder massage for 1 hour. which only cost less than SG$15.
when we check-in to the hotel miee miiee and me already source for snorkelling @ Phi Phi Island, Islands Hopping, canoe, trekking, ATV, elephant tour. before we went to krabi, the internet source state that snorkelling at Phi Phi will cost about $2200 baht and half day canoe will cost about $1500 baht. luckily when we were in krabi, it was the raining season, so we got promotion. Phi Phi tour (incl. snorkel at 3 sites, lunch at Phi Phi island, visit different attraction such as Viking Cave, Monkey Bay) cost only $800 baht per person (less than SGD40) incl. transport and is on speedboat. quite worthy. so we went Phi Phi Island on the 2nd day. at night was at the street market where they set up store near the road. bought alot of stuff. ear stud, bags, shirts.
on the 3rd day morning, we went for 1/2 day canoe cost $350 incl. transport from hotel to canoe and back. it was very very tiring. canoe for abt 2hr. is nice scenery but tiring as i dun really know how to canoe and i thought the guide will teach us but they didnt. they just canoe and the rest could catch up but i really got a hard time trying to catch up and the water current and wave is quite strong at some place. is nice i dun deny but the strength n endurance to canoe really make me wanna die le. luckily i only go for 1/2 canoe, if full day, i will be dead. went for in
at night, we took up a 3 hour night market "tour", but we were only fetch to the night market place but is for us to go explore. is like pasar malam. bought bags for me and sisters. it was a painful experience coz i feed alot of mosquito in the van that we took to the market and while waiting for others to come back to return to the hotel. aft that went to look for caps and shirt with miee as he wanted to get for his family. then i very stupid. he ask me to take $100 baht out as i also bought something together with him but i didnt realise i took out $1000 baht. i only realise that on Sunday (last day) morning that my wallet only have $50 baht left as i always save $1000 to get the chilli shrimp food that my mother want.. so there goes my $1000 baht (SGD40++).. ARGHHH... so angry.. then think back i was wondering why the saleman look so stunned when i pass him the money which suppose to be $600 ($500 + $100 note) and i ended up giving him $500 + $1000.. initially i tot he was very sad coz i cut the price from $800 baht to $600.. but think back, he was acting blur, so dishonest of him..!! arghh.. angry..
before going to the airport we drop by at a souvenir shop to get the food my mother want.. it doesnt have the actual one so i just anyhow buy something similar coz i also nv try the food before.. flight was late for about 20 minutes so i reach SG at 6.10pm instead of 5.55pm.. buy alcohol for my father then also get myself a perfume coz my anna sui secret wish perfume almost finish le.. so this time i bought a bigger bottle coz only differ $20++.. is a summer edition. is quite plain smell but it should be able to last longer in this hot weather..
